I DIYed my own mirror wall decor using Dollar Tree finds – people call it a masterpiece and say it ‘looks expensive’

A DIY-SAVVY homeowner has revealed how she created a decorative mirror that could be mistaken for a luxury purchase.

She used supplies from Dollar Tree to put her artistic skills to the test on a budget.

Natasha (@tashdesignsca) boasts over 297,000 followers on TikTok, where she shares home decor inspiration.

She took to the social media platform to reveal how she made eye-catching wall art for her living room.

She bought several mirrors from Dollar Tree for $1.25, wooden dowels, and Tumbling Tower blocks also for $1.25 from the discount store. 

“Optional: Spray them gold,” read the text over the screen as she held the blocks in her hand.

The DIY enthusiast showed herself drilling small holes on opposite sides of each of the mirrors that were big enough to push the wooden dowels through.

She had opted to paint the wooden dowels black to match the frame of the mirrors.

She then placed four mirrors in a line and glued gold blocks in between for an artistic look.

The statement Dollar Tree decor was completed by hanging the mirrors in a pattern on the wall.

Almost 48,000 people watched the video and it racked up 2,700 likes from those who were impressed by the design.

Many viewers took to the comment section praising Natasha’s art skills and eager to make it for themselves.

“Looks expensive, great job,” one person wrote.

“Another masterpiece, love it,” another commented.

“You are so creative!!!” a third chimed in.

The home decor inspiration comes after a couple revealed how they renovated their dated bathroom for under $400.

The newlyweds (@riley.renovated) have 18,000 followers on TikTok, where they give a glimpse into DIY projects at their Michigan home.

They showed that their bathroom had aged wooden furniture and brown worktops with a silver faucet.

They took inspiration from modern decor trends to overhaul the dark space.

The furniture was painted a shade of succulent green, white tile stickers were put on the walls, and they applied replaceable marble effect vinyl over the brown worktop.

They finished the renovation by hanging a circular gold mirror from Target and positioning a small plant next to the sink.

“We wanted a cheap way to get rid of all the darkness in such a small room,” they said.

“Without damaging for future buyers or ourselves when we want a change.

“Mission accomplished under $400.”
