FOND DU LAC – If you want to give your living space a vintage or eclectic feel, downtown Fond du Lac’s newest store has you covered.

Mirrorball, 44 N. Main St., will open Friday with home decor in a mix of vintage and modern styles, from wall prints and trinkets to pillows and furniture. The store aims to appeal to a range of customers, from those who like simplicity to others who are looking for a pop of color.

Owner Casey Fiebig, an avid collector of home decor with an eye for interior design, got the idea for the store after visiting similar stores in nearby cities like Ripon and Cedarburg. He said likes the vintage look and noticed a trend of it, even in department stores, so the store‘s vibe takes that style into something that’s fun and not necessarily trendy.

“It’s going to give people the availability of having eclectic tastes, so I wanted to have a variety of things but also keep it in a certain style,” he said.

The store’s name also reflects the theme — literally — referencing disco balls and their timelessness as decoration, something that’s both flashy and simple.

A main goal of Mirrorball, too, is to offer cool pieces that are as affordable as possible, rather than charging for an item’s maximum worth, which is common in antique stores, Fiebig said. Prices will still vary from piece to piece, but it gives customers a chance to snag something they really love.

“When you go into a store like this, and you find a piece and you’re just like, ‘How can I not get it at that price?’ I want everyone to have that experience with almost any item they find in here,” he said.

As the store opens, there will be room to grow, but Fiebig said he’ll focus on the present and see how things go.

Mirrorball will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and then will be open Wednesdays through Saturdays. For more information and updates, visit the Mirrorball Facebook page.
